Our own recently completed Clinical Trial on 32 patients with Type II Diabetes, using AdiStem’s Intravenous modality, and done in collaboration with a leading hospital in Manila, Philippines has shown the procedure to be safe. No adverse reactions were reported during or post procedure or during the one year follow up.
It has also shown the following in terms of efficacy of the procedure:
1. Statistically significant decrease in the Fasting Blood Sugars, and the level of Hemoglobin A1C

A Clinical Trial will be conducted in 2009 in collaboration with a leading centre for Diabetes and Endocrinology in Egypt.
Introducing a new ‘fourth’ modality of administration, activated autologous adult stem cells are to be administered directly into the Pancreatic Artery of the patient, to study it’s the effect on the Insulin-producing Beta-cells of the Islets of Langerhans in the Pancreas.
Another Clinical Trial due for commencement in 2009 looks at the Management and Accelerated Healing of Chronic Ulcers (Stage 1-4) in Type 2 Diabetics. This Clinical Trial will be conducted in collaboration with another leading centre for Diabetes and Endocrinology in Egypt.
The administration of autologous adult stem cells directly into the diabetic ulcer falls under AdiStem’s Topical modality.
The Clinical Trial (completed in April 2009) has shown excellent results in all 32 subjects.
