AdiStem Ltd.

AdiStem Ltd. is a biotechnology company which discovers and develops new methods and apparatus to assist clinicians in using autologous blood and adult adipose-derived stem cells to address serious disease conditions, orthopedic applications, and to assist in particular cosmetic and plastic surgery procedures.

AdiStem owns proprietary technologies for stem cell administration that are shared with qualified medical practitioners through instructional courses, workshops and seminars. Due to its clinician and hospital relationships and collaborative efforts with medical institutions, AdiStem believes it is now a leading provider of autologous adipose-derived adult stem cell products and procedures.

There are now clinicians in the USA, Canada, Greece, South Africa, India, China, Saudi Arabia, Korea, Egypt, Turkey, Jordan, Philippines, Thailand, Malaysia, Mexico, Peru and Brazil who currently use some aspect of AdiStem technology in the treatment of patients and in further research on diseases.

Therapeutic and Regenerative Potential of Biomolecules
Derived from Adipose-derived Stem Cells

AdiStem has developed methods and apparatus to assist clinicians in using autologous blood (platelet rich plasma) and adult adipose-derived stem cells to address serious disease conditions. Importantly, the protocols devised for the procurement of adult adipose-derived stem cells do not overlook the therapeutic potential conferred by the cocktail of cells present in the stromal vascular fraction.

Our research has involved utilising modern drug discovery techniques to connect the clinical benefits observed in autologous adipose-derived adult stem cell treatments to active biomolecules that are produced by the body in response to the stem cell treatments. For example, utilising LC/MS/MS proteomics technology, one of the active protein (s) responsible for insulin resistance in Type II Diabetes patients involved in an adult adipose-derived stem cell clinical trial were identified. By deciphering the biomolecules responsible for adult adipose-derived stem cell clinical trial outcomes, AdiStem has identified several peptides with therapeutic potential.

In 2010 AdiStem established a research and development base in Melbourne Australia to exploit discoveries connected with its stem cell research. Specifically AdiStem Pty Ltd is developing several peptide therapeutics which target a number of chronic diseases, including HIV/AIDS and Type II Diabetes.

Peptides are fragments of proteins that play an important role in modulating many physiological processes and therefore have excellent potential as therapeutic agents. Peptides have a number of advantages over traditional drugs, including low toxicity and immunogenicity, excellent specificity, and high potency. They now represent one of the most active areas of research and development in the drug discovery industry.

These peptides, which have been derived from our adult adipose-derived stem cell research, are called Adiceuticals (pharmaceuticals derived from adipose-derived stem cells).
